In our dreams, our stars, and our images.

The heat hasn’t been too bad here, thankfully, perfectly tolerable.  Today it was warm, but cooler* than yesterday; I got out on the bike for five miles/half an hour.  The ride was one of my best, not so much of a struggle.  For which I am most grateful.  Last night after work Dan and I took Max on a neighborhood trudge.  With a twist.  We went up to the closest school yard and made a few circuits around the track-inside-of-the-newish-football-field.  His idea.  Not mine.

*I’m sure there are temperature numbers around some place, but I won’t be looking them up.  You guys know what weather feels like.

Our 3 a.m. jog was an interesting experiment.  I can’t say it was a failure, because technically I DID run.  But I’m not sure we’ll repeat it any time soon.  Or maybe we will.  (This man has the patience of a fucking saint, you guys, I am not even kidding.)  For my gratitude today I wrote down how much I appreciated the fact that my legs and hooves took me where we needed to go.   Slow, sure, but we got there.

On the card altar we have a stone that I’m not at all familiar with.  So I googled it.  Turns out, similar to graphite.  Here’s some more of what I found:

“…. the name Molybdenite comes from the Greek word Molybdos, meaning lead.  Known as the dreamer’s stone, it integrates the everyday self with the higher self and facilitates spiritual expansion.  If you need a healing dream, place Molybdenite under your pillow.  Repairing and replenishing the subtle bodies, this stone operates exceptionally well at a mental level.  It has a powerful electrical charge that continually recharges and rebalances the body when in its field.  Molybdenite eliminates mercury toxicity from the body, and harmonizes mercury fillings to a more beneficial vibration.  It is reputed to facilitate intergalactic contact.”

a message from the stars  ~

Your life is always held in perfect equilibrium by the divine natural order that exits within all creation.  Believing that you have somehow failed or made the wrong decision or choice is simply an illusion.  There is nothing you need to change or fix in your life, apart from your sometimes unbalanced perceptions – mainly your self criticism.

Know that you are always worthy of love and you are eternally blessed.  Start to accept all of who you are, as you are, and you will see your life magically and lovingly transform.  All is in perfect divine order.

From a spiritual perspective there are no mistakes in life.  Every experience is a lesson in love and wisdom.”

The way these definitions are written (and channeled) are why I am such a fan of this deck.  Also, I love learning about the crystals  ……pause…..  I just got horribly distracted by Twitter and then by the My Drunk Kitchen girl.  (Dammit Kari and Becky and Hannah Hart, stop being so entertaining while I’m trying to work!)

Where were we?  Oh right.  So the card, nice (don’t really think there’s much I can add to that one).  The Daily Dog, also nice, here ya go (it’s kinda dark, but that’s how it goes sometimes).

Also a patient guy.

And we recently found out that our state has some new custom plates.  This came from Emma via her father.  (Eventually.  Long story, not worth yammering on about.  Bottom line: new phone, getting it all figured out.  Who reads instruction manuals any more?!)  (ME!  But apparently, no one else.)

How fancy!

Also, guess who will be here in The Burrow tomorrow?  This girl !!!

Hurricane on a beach!

She’ll be here for Country Fair weekend and her grandfather’s 74th birthday.  It’s gonna be a festive few days.

  1. Once again i’m amazed by how the Universe works.
I haven’t had much time to read all your blogs lately but i’ve managed to find some time now and what do I find… a card that I REALLY needed to see, and that I’ve managed to turn up just when you ask for help :-)

  2. Well that card just nailed me tonight. Not that I’ve been wondering outright if I’ve made the right decision, but somewhere deep down, I think I was questioning it. I absolutely love these cards. This deck and your working deck both really speak to me.

Glad your hooves are getting you where you need to go, and that Hurricane is coming to visit. I hope you enjoy your time together! :)

Thanks! Empress and I made great progress tonight in our quest to tidy some crucial areas. At least there will be floor space and clean sheets.

  3. I hate that the card descriptions mix actual things about the mineral with new agey weirdness. That’s exactly the kinda stuff that makes me want to join the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry – or the Santa Killer Society, as Mother likes to call it. “Harmonizes mercury fillings to a more beneficial vibration?” WTF, over? THAT’S NOT A THING.

Glad that you have a big strong brain, so you may question shit which strikes you wrong. Sad that you don’t believe in all the Magick out here, just waiting for you to enjoy.

(I stand by my original opinion, that GROUP is made up of fun-sucking, sad and lonely, dream killers. You do NOT want to be a member.)

    Love,
    Mom.

  4. I like this – “that you have somehow failed or made the wrong decision or choice is simply an illusion. There is nothing you need to change or fix in your life, apart from your sometimes unbalanced perceptions – mainly your self criticism.” Just the other day a dear friend whose going through some shit asked – what am i doing wrong? As if the shit were her fault. It’s not. It’s life. It happens. It doesn’t help to doubt yourself.
Gotta go sleep. Worked until 5am.

I think we need to add this, somehow, to our “Wisdom Of The Universe” sidebar:

“… As if the shit were her fault. It’s not. It’s life. It happens. It doesn’t help to doubt yourself… ”

    Sleep well.

  5. I agree with JD about the “Harmonizes mercury fillings to a more beneficial vibration?” I mean, really.

The rest of it, mostly I’m willing to go along with. Some of this guys descriptions of minerals and stones goes over the top, but some of them go along with what I’ve learned previously.

I think a decision I’ve made is a good one. I just have to follow-thru.

The thing about running is you need to use “fast-twitch” muscles, or at least faster-twitch than walking and riding the bike. So if you did some exercises that activated your fast-twitch muscles, you might do better. Ask the guys about them: they may have learned them at the academy and they are used in sports. If they can’t help, we can talk on the phone and i can describe them better than online.

    ~
I’ll investigate and get back to you. Thanks so much!
(Nothing about me is all that fast, so maybe this can help.)

  6. -I- read instructions, too! And after the printer wouldn’t communicate with the computer (new router) and they couldn’t make it work after TWO days, I began yakking at them about the INSTRUCTIONS! that came with the damn router. They finally, with much grumbling, read the instructions and got the thing working. (GRRR stomp stomp…)

Have you ever heard of the saying about people being so smart they’re stupid? (common sense eludes them)

Glad Hanna’s coming to visit. And I don’t think it’s just you, number wise. I’ve been scooting around the past couple of days (can anyone say ‘procrastination’?) (oh, and wasting time?) and the comments are down pretty much everywhere. It’s kinda like a dead hole going around. (and I really should be getting shit done other than sitting here long enough for my butt to go to sleep…)

    ~
Good to know it might not just be me. It makes sense that folks aren’t sitting around all day and night right now (with the exception of me and you) hanging out on-line. SOME people take vacations. I hear.

  7. I’m here! I’ve been lurking because I’m up to my armpits in work, but I’m here. :)

Also, I read the instructions. I take great pleasure in the moments when Magnum says, “How did you figure that out?” and I can respond, “By reading the freaking instructions.”

    ~
One: VERY good to see you.
(Now, get back to work!) :P

And B) thankgawd it’s not just me (and Robin) who read instructions.

  8. KimM/Ginger Betty

Oddly enough, I heard about this stone (mineral? metal?) years ago, from my (now ex-) husband. He was working for a copper mining company then, and was informing me that the ore contained “mostly” copper, but had other metals as well “…you know, some lead, silver, just a trace of gold, molybdenite-”
    “Mol- what?”
“Molybdenite. They use it for, um … well, dunno really. They call it “molly” for short.”
Such a funny name, and I’ve never forgotten it. “Molly” sound like a good friend to have around.

    ~
So good to see YOU too!!!
Lol, yes I totally agree. Molly would be a GREAT friend to have on hand. ;)

  11. Wait a minute. Didn’t the fair just happen? Has it been a year already??!!

    ~
This was the Oregon Country Fair, click on the link up there. Not at ALL the same as our county fair. Totally different. Lane County Fair is in August. (But I know what you mean.)
