I’m not getting better at this traveling thing. But I’m minding that fact less and less. Still doing laundry tonight, and my “luggage” stuffing is spilling out all over the floor (a fact Max quite enjoys, gives him other places to bury toys). And I’m sitting here NOT on my comfortable computer. Being hyper-sensitive, as I am, small differences can throw me off for a long time.
What I’m finding out, even with the new 2.0 Verson of my improving wee self elf, is that some of these “off” deals are easier to handle than others. On Dan’s laptop the way pictures are downloaded (and stored) is not the same as how they are on mine. I can’t get past it. So now it’s distracting me, and I’m having trouble focusing, struggling to get the trip documented in an entertaining and fun way. See? Very challenging being me.
We’ll begin tonight with the card, that might help. (Fingers crossed.)
“Bull ~ Tarbh (pronounced as Tarv) ~ Wealth, Potency, Beneficence
The card shows a bull roaring, with three cranes circling in the air above, and with the leaves of a willow tree in the foreground. Two Celtic monuments, carved in the first century, both show a bull with three cranes and a willow tree. The cranes in the card remind us that, although the bull is an animal representing the earth, he is also linked with the sky and heavens. We see the bull’s testes which remind us of the association of the bull with fertility and virility. Early Druid shaman-rattles were shaped in the form of bull’s testes, and one is shown lying in the grass. To the left we see a Bronze-Age Druid horn, whose sound mimics the bull’s roar.
Tarbh mediates the influence of Taranis, the Jupiter-like god of the Druids, whose beneficence and expansiveness can bring you the opportunity for a rich and abundant life. The Bull is a symbol of wealth and as such it is auspicious to draw this card when considering financial matters. But remember that the ancient ones were wise enough to understand that true wealth is to be found in the heart and the soul first, and only then in the material world. The Bull represents fertility, potency, abundance, and prosperity, but these things can sometimes take a while to achieve. If you need to work steadfastly in trying circumstances for a considerable period of time in order to achieve your goals, the bull will help you to do this without becoming drained or depressed.
Drawn reversed, this card may indicate that you are having difficulties in feeling motivated. There is no animal more stubborn than a bull who refuses to move, and it may be important for you to look at the roots of your lack of motivation – you may be making more of a choice about life than you believe. You may also need to ask yourself whether you are sufficiently sensitive to others’ needs. Do you perhaps act like a ‘bull in a china shop’ when confronted with certain situations?
A bull’s power when harnessed or channelled can be awesome, but when a bull is maddened he can become dangerous. You may need to attend to the way in which you react under provocation, and the way in which you might be tempted to use your personal power as ‘power over’ others.”
When we were driving home yesterday I saw four cranes (great white herons?) in a flooded field. I usually see them in threes, so this was unusual. Well, the entire spotting was unusual. But more so due to the number.
Before I forget, and speaking of observations, here is the list of what we noticed, in terms of foreign plates since we left town, exactly as I noted them in my phone:
Minnesota, Arizona - four (including an old one that I haven’t see in a really long time), Tennessee, New York, Montana, BC (three), Illinois, Missouri (possibly Minnesota again, but the entire state was blocked by illegal frame and had none on front), Kansas, Colorado, Wisconsin, California whale-tail type twice, Nebraska, Michigan, New Mexico, Texas more times than I can count, and Pennsylvania.
We are firmly in July, right now. Surprisingly enough, it doesn’t even feel CLOSE to being that for me. But the calendar says so. Here, look at the Hawaii page.
Another reason I’m feeling scrambled is because during our appointment today *A* and I discussed several assignments that I have ahead of me. I’ll try to organize my thoughts (and the photo files) better tomorrow for you guys. Sadly for today though, I’m done.
