This afternoon we welcomed some visitors. And later, we WERE the visitors. Shadow and Ryon were here with Empress and Max. We had a belated Father’s Day gift to deliver and they had a festive mid-day function to attend. All four of them. When one works for a pet place, pets are always welcome.
That, above, was what greeted me when I got home from my bike ride. Some front porch time was in order. Can’t allow any good sunshine to be wasted here!
Right after we all headed out to our respective events, I started receiving phone photos from my Hurricane. She’d had a bad day, so J.Adam took her someplace that can cheer up just about anyone.
Yep, the zoo. It appeared to help. And for that, we are enormously grateful. Enormously!
This one came with the caption of “napping jaguar” and if you mouse-over, you can see that I called it something similar when I sent it to my e-mail. (BIG cats are not really cats. They are majestic and gorgeous.)
Who was it that talked about how all we can ever get is butt pictures? Fokker, I think. The last time her family went to their zoo all they ended up with was the rear view. Wonder why that is. This pachyderm was nicely cooperative though, side shots are perfectly acceptable.
Thanks Hanny, for sharing. And thank YOU Adam, for cheering us all up with this adventure today.
Shall we move on to more esoteric interests now? Like this feather I saw in two different places, and Ryon spotted even before that. Then, Dan brought it in to the house.
Which seems to imply that it has purpose, and a message. Speaking of signs, our card is SO perfect with this post it’s not even funny. (Okay, I guess it certainly COULD be considered funny, or at least, fascinating.)
“The Eagle King ~ the big picture, angelic help ~ 12
The Eagle King is a sign that your highest destiny is within reach. You are on the right path now, even if you can’t see where you’re going. The Eagle King soars high above the mountains and valleys of life and is able to see the big picture when you seem to be lost in a bit of a fog.
He makes a formidable Ally as he takes your prayers up toward the sun and releases them to the Divine. They will be answered for the highest good of all.
It is a fortunate omen when the Eagle King decides to be your Ally.”
This was most definitely right-side up today, but it’s been helpful lately to show both directions, so we’ll do that again with this one.
“Challenger:
The Eagle King challenges you to see a higher purpose to events. Not everything is meant to come to pass according to your specifications. If you can’t see the forest for the trees, stand back for a while and let the Eagle King fly high on your behalf.
Perhaps it is time to speak to someone who has objectivity and an ability to see the bigger picture where you don’t. Just remember that even when things do not go the way you expect, there’s always a reason for the detour.”
Not sure where the angelic help comes in, but it totally rings true with what we were all talking about when St Michael the Archangel showed up the other day. I’m not a fan of this entire illustration (again with the damn lines in someone’s eyes!) but I do love the tone and feeling of it, the soft light behind him and the full wing-span version of Eagle out in front.
Really, we’ve all agreed that this set of cards doesn’t have a bad one in the bunch. What grabs me most about THIS message though, is the overall gentleness of it. There is simply a comforting feeling here, giving us a sense of protection. As I said, much like St Michael, or any other angelic assistance. (HA! I just answered my own question.)

What a day you had. Dogs, zoo pics, feathers, family, dinner, presents, visits, and that blossom picture is perfect and beautiful.

Sounds like J Adam is a good soul, taking care of the Hurricane with exactly what she needs. I am glad that the festivities continue…we are about ready to head into birthday month for my sister, Mrs. Denial, her sister, and my ex-brother-in-law who is still a friend as the father of my wonderful nephew. The shenanigans will last all month, I am certain.
I like Eagle King, plus his “contrary” being a “challenge” instead. Getting some powerful medicine in your cards these days…Bet the King of Swords shows up soon…
~
Birthday month also includes my dad.
We’re hoping to have all three witchlings in town* for THE day!

*And NOT working.
Isn’t your Hanna just darling? Tell her that her hair is lovely and she’s not allowed to say mean things about herself because they aren’t true.
Love the colors of that little pig!
~
Thank you, I will tell her, and make sure she reads today’s comments.
Oh man, that pig…..

Now I want to go back to the zoo again! Your daughter is just lovely, the best pic in the lot.
I like the art on the card. But I do have a thing for Native American ‘stuff’.
And just how would one go about recognizing the message from the feather? The crows in my backyard have left me two. And one was standing straight up on end right under my laundry lines. I think I missed it or I’m just not ‘seeing’ what I should.
‘Last’ blossoms are so poignant.
~
We saw two crow feathers in a yard today, and totally thought of you. (None standing on end though.)
Here’s how you tune in to what the sign means, listen.
It’s that easy. Quiet your self for just a quick minute or so, slow your breathing, and listen. What or who pops into your head? Mundane shit? A dead relative? A song or a movie scene? A book title or character? All of those are valid. And all of them can be interpreted as a message.
Just listen for them.
Exactly, poignant is the perfect word for them.

When we went to the farmers market, all I got was butt shots of cows, pigs, goats. I just love all the critters, and that multi colored pig is awesome.
Hanna is so cute. I love the photo.
Nice card. I needed that today.
~
That’s right! You got butt shots too, didn’t you? What is UP with that?!
Thank you, I’ve always thought my children were extraordinarily beautiful, but then,
I’m supposed to.

What a beautiful jaguar! (Who is, in fact, a cat, despite the depth of the pool of your denial.)

LOL!!!
THAT line is why we ALL know you will one day be a published authour.
(Gawd I’m so glad you’re on my side.)
