Advancing Along, and Making Progress.

We leave in a day and a  half.  I refuse to panic, but I am certainly allowing my 2.0 Version self elf to get slightly antsy.  Tomorrow will be the pool and a regular post.  But Thursday I’ll only have time to get the card up.  I may or may not have the option of blogging on the move.

Today is all about the pictures, and answering some requests.  Like, a better view of my new belt pack.  This is not great, but it is an improvement over the last shot.

Two pockets on either side of the water bottle.

My phone is visible on the left side.  My music player is in the zippered containment area on the right (that’s the cord to my earbuds hanging out of it).

And now, for my rat’s nest hair.  We only got one angle, because earlier I totally forgot.  Maybe Hanna can use her really impressive camera and get an artistic picture of it all.

One dreadlock,
in the making.
Unintentionally.

One of the things most people don’t realize when they see messy hair like this is that quite often it’s a result of it being clean (but not combed).   Not dirty at all.  Misinformation pisses me off.  A.  Lot.

Foreign license plates were all around us this afternoon.  We walked (dodging the rain) and then gathered some travel snacks.

There was also Nebraska and New Jersey.  (New Jersey!!!)  Most exciting.  (I really like how the Florida people put on their plate, but reattached that old Georgia plate FRAME!  Guys, you don’t NEED those things.  They can totally be left off.  Like the Missouri folks did above.  Seriously, go withOUT the frame.  Please.)

On our card altar we had a tweak today.  This one came up reversed.

But I turned the deck around so you could see how lovely this illustration is.  One of the things I have always liked about the representation of how she painted these cards is that she kept so much of the ancient symbolism in tact, while still incorporating the newer* look.

*Sure, it’s dated now.  But relatively speaking, in the history of the Tarot, still new-ish.

Two of Cups (r)

Twos are duality, balance, the epitome of interpersonal relationships on a one-to-one basis.  And obviously, romance.  But this card can be telling us about more than that.  It can be pointing towards a way of dealing with others by being whole and complete within ourselves.

Since Cups are always of the heart though, we do tend to think of this particular message as being more passion-related.  (It’s one of the Happily Ever After signals for me when I’m reading for someone.)  It IS a sign to focus on our emotions, but we need to remember that we love many and we love in various ways, other than always in a singular-partnered fashion.

When we receive it in the Contrary form we have to ask why.  My immediate impression when I flipped it over was that it’s one of those cases where we’re on our way, but notquitethere yet.  Like, we ALMOST have it all worked out, we are THIS close.  But still just shy of the perfect finish.

Whether looking at/listening to this one as romantically slanted or as more friendship, self-care aimed, we know that we are getting close.  We know that all the work we’ve been doing on this issue* is going to come out really REALLY well.  With love, with caring, with a great deal of happiness.

*Whatever pops into your head the minute you see this card, THAT is your particular focused issue.

Today’s Deck:

Robin Wood Tarot

No Daily Dog.  I’ve texted, but no one is answering me!  Empress took my Maximum Grand Dog over to Ryon’s so he could meet Shadow and no one is sending me any phone photos.  Blame them for this pet-free post!

Wait, they came through after all.  Thanks, guys!

LateNight Addition:

Contemplative Shadow.
