For the past hour my son has been “helping” me. Traditionally when this happens, there is carnage, broken parts, and I’m crying. Today, since I am now 2.0 Version, I only have one twitchy eye, and the interwebz are merely painfully slow. However, we may have crashed some sites. Or not. Hard to tell.
And, I should have showered like way before he arrived. AND I have MUCH business and laundry and packing still to get done. In other words, I’m REALLY behind already! Oh, but wait, here’s some of our exchange from yesterday. Where, apparently, I forgot to tell him that I’d be at the Trials. Oops.
Me ~ (sent phone photo to all kids and spouse) At the track!
Him ~ …were you kidnapped and taken there because it’s the last place anyone would look?
Me ~ No. I told you my friend would be in town and we were going with her son and his pal.
Him ~ Actually, you didn’t told me* that. You did mention it on the blog though.
Me ~ Shit! Sorry, Babe. I knew I’d told ONE of the three of you.
Him ~ Heh.
Me ~ Big damn deal finish results that are record breaking and amazing.
Him ~ Dear person who stole my mother’s phone: please give it back to her. She needs it, and it’s clearly not expensive enough to warrant stealing.
Me ~ Five Thousand Meter women’s qualifying upset! In person it is really cool. Even to me, your actual mother.
Him ~ Seriously, random thief; not funny. Just leave the phone somewhere and tell me where to pick it up.
Me ~ And what, leave the ransom for the phone but not for the mom?
Him ~ Clearly you haven’t kidnapped my mother. If you had, you would be begging me to retrieve her by now.
*Old family joke. I told you! No, you didn’t TOLD me. Also, we misspeak several other bits of language on purpose. (I am. You am’nt.)
Yeah, he gets his patience and humour from his father. Obviously. Now, back to the races. Or rather, to the bad phone photos Barb and I took while there.

Combined, we are over a hundred years old.
(But we were happy, so that’s all we cared about.)
I know I promised to share the fascinating thing we found out about those bucket kids from yesterday, but now I’ve run out of day and I’ll have to postpone the entire story. Instead I’m going to give you the card and move on. We leave tomorrow, don’t even ask how much I still have left to do tonight. (The answer would be: A SHIT TON!)

“Inner Power ~
You are now allowing yourself to experience and express your true power. The fairies ask you to affirm:
it is safe for me to be powerful!
You have within you all of the power of the Universe. No one is more powerful than you. As a spiritually minded being, it is impossible for you to misuse or abuse your power. Your guides will bring you opportunities to use and expand your power in ways that bring great blessings to you and the world.
Heaven needs lightworkers of the world, including you, to realize and utilize their power. By drawing this card, you are being asked to release any fears you may have about being powerful. You’re asked to keep your self-esteem high by honoring yourself, taking excellent care of your physical and emotional self, working on your dreams and aspirations, and spending time in prayer and meditation. The higher your level of self-esteem, the more comfortable you will be with your power.
Affirmation:
It is safe for me to powerful. I have all the power of the Universe flowing through me and supporting me.”
These cards are no longer in our regular rotation, but they called out to me this afternoon. It seemed as though we all needed some of this energy to get us on our way and through our challenges, whatever they turned out to be.
When I got up today, it was warm out in front. Muggy, still slightly overcast, but decidedly sunny in patches. Max found this as well.

Today’s Deck:
Healing With The Fairies Oracle Cards by Doreen Virtue
I’ll try to get, at least, the card up before we roll out tomorrow. If we have a chance on the road, I’ll let you know how it’s going.
