Traveling, second try.

I just pre-wrote this post, and I’m in a stupid noisy place where I can’t concentrate, so it went up, and I had to trash the entire fucking thing.  I am more angry than I can say.

We are on the road, stopped to see a friend of Em’s.  All I wanted to do was share the card and give a bit of an update.  But now, you get the definition.  And that’s it.  Tomorrow we’ll be home.

“Angel Of Communication  ~

Communicate clearly; don’t  be afraid to say it like it is.

One of your major lessons in this lifetime is to learn to communicate what you want clearly.  You assume that those around you know what you want or how you feel.  Yet the truth is that they do not.  Because of your failure to communicate honestly and clearly, those around you often end up confused or, at best, having to guess what it is you want, feel, or expect.

Do not be afraid to say it like it is.  You cannot lose anything by simply stating your truth.  You do not need to blame or accuse others in order to speak your truth, just state your case clearly.

Underlying this whole issue is a fear of not being accepted or not gaining the approval of others, and therefore you are often afraid to speak up.  Know that it is an act of love unto yourself and others to communicate clearly, lovingly, and honestly.  The Angel Of Communication is here to help you work through this issue.  Through this process you will honour and empower yourself and gain much respect and love from others.”

  1. Apparently, your angel of communication is contrary. Either that, or you/your beloved are. Or both. We get that way sometimes. Electronic goofs seem to set both of us off worse than just about any other daily issue, except that Mrs. Denial really gets pissed off in traffic…

In my continuing plan to “get better” and live up to this 2.0 Version moniker, I’m MUCH less angry these days. But shit like what happened to this post caused me to lose a LOT of ground all at once. Thankfully, we left town. And I left much of the rage behind.

  2. Sorry about your original post and sorry you and Dan are arguing. Glad you will be home tomorrow. Home makes it all better.

Home makes most everything so much better! I did several loads of laundry and felt lovely right away.

  3. Ugh, isn’t that just typical? I don’t know how many road-trips I’ve been on where everything went great… until the drive back home. It’s like all the over-stimulation, change in routines, and lack of personal space gets pent up until you’re trapped in the car together, and then any little thing can spark its release.

Yes, The Universe most certainly has a sense of irony!!! Love the message of the card, though! This has most definitely been one of my lifelong learning lessons. One small addition I would make, though: “You cannot lose anything” worth having “by simply stating your truth.” I have lost a relationship by stating my truth respectfully, and being treated with disrespect in response, and realizing that this was an unacceptable pattern that kept repeating. As a brilliant facebook post said the other day: “I am only responsible for what I say, not how you choose to perceive it.” Or something like that. Sometimes it doesn’t matter how clearly or respectfully you speak your truth, people just aren’t able to hear what you’re really saying. And sometimes that is just where they are, and no amount of explaining or additional talking will help. Coming to accept that has been a major challenge for me.

I am so glad that you got to stop by and meet in person! That was a wonderful & unexpected surprise! It was great chatting with you! Thanks to Emma & Dan for their patience in letting us chatter away longer than we were supposed to!

I hope the rest of your journey was frictionless & pleasant!

Perfect addition. I think I must have read it that way in my head because I THOUGHT that’s actually how it was written! Good catch.

Accepting our lessons is always a shit-ton of work. Which is why it’s not called a vacation. You’re doin’ great!!!

Thank YOU for making our stop-over work out so beautifully. It was absolutely wonderful, in every way imaginable. And so are you. Can’t wait until we get to visit for even longer in August.

We stopped to “adjust” the ratty-assed tarp. (Which means we added duct tape to it.) Once we hit Oregon it rained all the rest of the way home, but nothing we couldn’t deal with. :P

    • Thank you, thank you, you’re so welcome, and thank you! (Aww, I’m blushing! You are wonderful, too! And, yes, it will be great to have longer than “10 minutes” to visit!)

Duct tape fixes everything! ;) At least the rain waited til you were almost home, and didn’t damper your vacation!

It WAS nice that our away days were all clear.

  4. Is it just me, or is there some ironic humor going on here with the posting issues and the Angel of Communication card? Don’t mind me, I’m easily amused.

    ~
    It’s definitely amusing…. NOW! ;)

  5. Sorry you lost your original post. I hate when computers gobble things up.

I’m kind of with Karen on this one — that’s right where my brain went.
    = )

I saw it too, but it wasn’t something I could laugh off until later. MUCH later.

  6. I spent three hours a couple of days ago trying to get the wireless printer to work from our old laptop, which I had spent five hours a few days before THAT re-formatting because MadMax got a virus. There is just about nothing more irritating than that kind of shit where you are just chasing your tail trying to figure out something that just won’t work the way it’s supposed to. gah. (and btw the communication card is quite timely around here.)

    ~
Rat bastards! I hate hate hate when it all goes sideways like that. Hours we’ll never get back.
Dan’s been dealing with a virus on his laptop too, as has Emma. We all need a good bleaching.

Hope the message was helpful as well as appropriate. ;)
