Once again, I’m pre-writing. I have no idea how people do this on a regular basis. Other bloggers, please tell me. I’m curious. Tonight we’ll be taking Mom out for a dinner. She and Dad are meeting us at their favorite Chinese Buffet. My brother and I will each give her a nice large hanging plant (which I picked up yesterday). No dirt or manure this year, some lovely flowers instead.
We pretty much always keep these events small and just have family included, but we are inviting a friend of Emma’s this time. Ryon’s mother passed last year, and he lost his dad when he was 6. He has a grandfather who lives several states over. I thought it would be nice if he joined us. Also, he adores my crazy mother. So. There’s that.
I continue to get messages about enlarging the card altar and making that room more pleasant (or as pleasant as I can with it being half-full of boxes and looking like a storage unit). My eye was drawn to the stack where our retired cards are, again. As you may recall I don’t consider Hallmark holidays very meaningful, so I didn’t use our Special Occasions deck, but I did use one that is special.
Here’s the fun thing, just after I took this picture I heard Max go out the screen door. And bark. So I set my camera down and followed him. As I stood on the deck telling him that this noise was rude, he could say hi to neighbors without being offensive, I saw a tiny dragonfly land on one of Dan’s hugely blooming rosemarys. Exquisitely delicate and delightful! Then I went back inside to flip over our card.
“Be Honest With Yourself ~
This card indicates that you are hiding your true feelings and aren’t being forthright about an important topic. The fairies urge you to admit your true feelings to yourself.
Do you feel stuck? Depressed? Tired? Angry or irritable? These are symptoms that arise when we are dishonest with ourselves. Maybe you feel that you can’t afford to be honest with yourself and that you don’t have a choice. This card is not asking you to make any radical life changes or have a confrontation with another person. However, it is urging you to admit your true feelings to yourself.
One easy way to get in touch with your feelings is by going outside and engaging in a silent conversation with the fairies who live amidst the flowers, trees, and grass. Even if you can’t yet see or hear the fairies, mentally tell them everything that you are thinking, feeling, and experiencing these days. Ask them to help you get in touch with your deepest feelings. The fairies love to hold a mirror up to us so that we can see and admit the truth.
Affirmation: it’s safe for me to be honest with myself and others. I speak my truth with love.”
Can you see what is in the top right corner? THAT is exactly what mine looked like. Yeah. Signs like this entertain me endlessly. Also, weren’t we JUST talking about honestly acknowledging our feelings? Thanks, Universe, well done.
Because today’s post needs to be quick and brief I didn’t have a chance to get you a new Daily Dog, this one is from the set I took the other day.
Different turn of his head, but he’s still on duty. And adorable. (Although he did have a moment of misbehaviour while I was out on my bike ride. No, not a carpet gift this time. But something his girl will be cleaning up when she gets here. This dog’s Nana is only responsible for SO much.)
