Breaking News!!! This just in! Sit down, it’s gonna be good and it’s gonna be big. Ready? My Hurricane has joined the ranks of self-published e-authours. Seriously, you can now read an entire NOVEL written by my Seattle kid! Go HERE for the opportunity to buy it.
(And if you can’t right now, we totally understand. Just go check it out, no pressure. Puh-leeez, if anyone would be able to relate on the “can barely afford food” front, it’s us.)
I am beside my proud self elf with joy and admiration for her. She wrote it during her first NaNo, and her father did the proofreading. I know, the Amazon deal says I helped, but I did not. I WAS going to, but he kept being home and using the “good” computer, and the way they had the editing documents set up was sorta confusing, and I basically just dropped the ball. Doesn’t matter, it’s there, available for all the world to see and read now.
(If you find any mistakes, blame me, it’s completely my fault.)
She’ll be doing an article (for the Chuck Palahniuk site she contributes to) next week, with explanations and some backstory info. I imagine there will also be discussion about the e-pub/self-pub topic as well. Might be worth a look-see, for you writerly types. After that, it’ll have a LIKE option on FaceBook, or so she tells me. I think the only way I could be more excited is if the damn thing were actually made of paper and I was holding it.
Funny (or is it?) that I received the notification tonight when I sat down here to post. I saw our card earlier in the day, and mostly just thought ”damn, I love that illustration!” But now, once I’ve read the key words, and skimmed over the definition for a quick reminder, it seems to mesh quite smoothly with Hanny‘s announcement. Which was good, because all I really had to tell you today was that my irritating face rash was back.
This came up direct, but I’m going to include both Ally and Challenger, because that feels correct.
”The Well Watcher ~ wisdom, power of the Divine ~ 7
Ally
The Well Watcher signals the need to go within to contemplate the true source of power in the world – which, he reminds you, it is that of the Divine. This is a message to let you know that you are being called to the Well, and this unseen power will be there and will be yours to align with.
This affirmation and prayer will invite the Divine to bring miracles and resolution to your life:
‘Thy will be done through me for the highest good of all and for the true manifestation of my purpose.’
You will know the way forward by the still, small voice within. The Divine also may answer your call by sending others to help guide you.
Challenger
The Well Watcher comes to let you know that you’ve run out of steam. Self-will alone isn’t enough to make things happen. All cannot be yours at this time. If you feel you are going nowhere, it is because you are meant to stay put. Willfulness can lead to your becoming like the bull in a china shop, creating havoc as you push forward.
Remember the sacred, creative Source of the water in the well. Drink some, be still, and contemplate the true origin of power. It isn’t you. So drink deeply of the Wisdom of the Divine, and listen to the beautiful music playing through your life. When you have made conscious contact with your higher power, you can move forward again, replenished and renewed.
This is also an important time to restore harmony in your relationship, since you may be temporarily out of tune with one another. If there is a power struggle between you, remember that only the Divine has true power and you won’t feel the need to struggle anymore.”
Allow me to begin by saying I think this character could be either boy or girl, or neither. (It needed to be said.) And also, make sure to click on this so you can see it up close, it’s just gorgeous, with tons of amazing details all the way throughout.
Now, let’s look at WHY we may be having some completion and communication difficulty. Yeah, happy EVERYTHING week! Mercury, the sun, Mother Moon, Day Light Savings, Venus and Jupiter, the Equinox, plus a shitstorm of other confusing planetary messes going on. My suggestion is to take it slowly and watch for signs. Focus on, as the card says, looking within and making that connection, feeling that power. Absorb some of this wild energy going around, but do it cautiously.
There is still potential for things to blow up. What we found, the past few phases though, is that when we are prepared, and realistic about what this means to us, we get through it with fewer complications and less struggle. As challenging as this sounds, letting go is really the best course of action. (I know, but it actually DOES help!)
Keep our heads down, allow the flow of these planets, seasons, clocks, stars, and tidal patterns to just wash over us. If we get wet? Well, we’ll dry. If anything gets shrunk and misshapen in the turmoil of it all? Well, some garments are made to wear a bit distressed, and if that’s not the look, you like you can always donate it and buy something else.
Now, here’s your Daily Dog. We are currently experiencing a major wind storm, so he’s been not-so easy to catch in a good moment. Big weather is not his friend.
Today’s Deck:
Wisdom Of The Hidden Realm Oracle Cards by Colette Baron-Reid

Congrats, Hanna!! That is so cool. It’s actually free to Amazon Prime members, but you can only download one free book per month, and I’ve already downloaded mine for March. I will get it April 1st. (Having a Prime membership pays for itself for me because I have to order so many textbooks for school.)
The challenger part of this draw had more meaning for me– I loved these two lines: “Self-will alone isn’t enough to make things happen.” and “contemplate the true origin of power. It isn’t you.” Love that. Your wind storm is supposed to arrive here tomorrow, as if our animals weren’t already freaked out enough (new house, construction workers in and out, strange noises and now wind storm.) Thanks for reminding me to give them some extra attention.
~
Take GOOD care of those critters; the rain followed the wind and it was torrential. Now (after midnight) Max won’t go outside for his break because the water is threatening to freeze, yours will be snow, even though ours probably won’t.

You know, I’m assuming that she still gets something (money) when a Prime member downloads the book for free– it makes sense since we pay to be Prime members. But I’m not actually sure. If she knows, let me know, because I will happily buy it if she doesn’t.
~
Wow, that’s so generous. Thank you, but probably not necessary. I’ll ask her how it all works. (Unless she checks in here first and answers your question on her own.)

Congratulations Hanna!
As far as communications go, this effects me the most at work. Between the pts, the drivers and the computer reports, there’s a lot of big chances for errors. I will remember to be extra present when I go back Wednesday night.
And there is Max to cheer me up. Ahhhh.
~
Even when he leaves me something on the carpet that I do NOT want to see, he’s kinda cheery for us too.

‘If you feel you are going nowhere, it is because you are meant to stay put.’ !!!
a very restful person, always rushing around trying to second guess what should be done. So I’m going to try and stop and wait (?) see what pops up. LOL.
Oh yes – certainly needed that reminder. I’m not – I suspect –
Major congratulations to your baby girl – and you too (bask in her cleverness)!
~
Thank you, we are both beyond proud.
Stop and wait, very safe choice, very safe.

Yay for Hanna! I a lot of writers never get to the point of just taking that chance.
Love the little sweater.

That fine piece of Max’s wardrobe is yet another Dan Original.
(But this time made with a strange and odd mystery yarn.)

Congrats to Hanna! You must be super proud, Julie.
Man, I can definitely use this card as an ally right now.
~
Super!
And good, I love it when our radio signals are useful.

Yay for Hanna!! Just went and clicked. Honestly, having a Kindle and being a voracious reader is just like having one of those little feeder things in the lab rat cages that they had to click to get a food pellet. Click! Book! Click! Book!
The Challenger is definitely what I’ve been feeling the past few days. Need to make some changes but not having what it takes to do so. I will try to wait with patience and let the power germinate. Or something.
I thought the illustration looked a bit like your Empress. Not sure why exactly.
~
Lol, click book click book click book!
Very wise to sit and germinate right now.
Interesting you said that, when Dan and I were sitting here last night, we commented on how much s/he looked like one of the lifeguards at the pool last night, him remarking on the Scandinavian features. (Which would apply to BOTH girls!) Hmmmm….

Yay for Hurricane. Interesting card. Running late this morning, and there is snow to contend with…
~
It was trying to snow as we were going to bed (which would be JUST as you were going to work). Obviously we slept through it all.

The book has been purchased for my very own Kindle.

Our graititude is un-ending!
(I’d also be interested in hearing what you guys have to say about the story too.)

Huge congrats! to Hanna. That is wonderful news.
The card is gorgeous. And I like the message. Waiting is so hard, but I am in a wait and see mode, so this message helps me to understand that. Thanks.
~
That waiting phase can sometimes feel SO long. But it always passes. Always.

Yay for Hanna! It takes guts to do stuff like that.
I don’t want to stay put!
Max is adorable. (Gotta run! Someone’s yelling for me!)

STAY PUT!

Congrats to Hanna. Doesn’t your baby girl come home soon? Sorry Em, the youngest in the family is always the baby even in their twenties and on. Max, hang on, you are safe.
So…back to the grind. Have a good day/night. You had snow? We had wind storms and rain, more today.
~
Yes and yes. She will ALWAYS be the baby, just as my mother will be as well. (Emmy knows, and she understands.)
Friday afternoon. We are counting down, on one hand now. Max might even make it that long. Now, whether his Nana does or not, still up in the air.

YaY!! For Hanna. Freaking Awesome. I will buy it when I get home.
Max is soooo cute. I love the Daily Dog.
~
What are we going to do when we run out of Daily Dogs? Borrow him more often perhaps, that’s what I’m thinking.
Or, I know, have her send us phone photos from the shop of select adorable four-legged customers she’s grooming. That could work!

Woohoo for Hanna! May her sales be plentiful.

Thank you Delia. And thanks to ALL of you!

Thanks, everyone, for being so supportive! To answer an earlier question, I don’t get any royalties when it’s a free Prime purchase, but that’s because I allowed Amazon to lend it as part of the agreement, which is totally fine.
Honestly, it has nothing to do with money and more to do with people reading the book–which, in and of itself, was an experiment. Even if it’s not a good book, the idea is that I tried out how KDP works, and, even if no reads it, at least I can share with LitReactor readers how the platform works, if they want to try it out.
Thank you again, everyone! My dad was a huge influencer, so, if you’re a fan of his (through the blog), you’ll like it. Except, you know, for everything about it that’s fiction
Congrats Hanna.
Staying put.
~
Good idea.
