Southbound, in that congested but satisfied sort of way.

In all of my own excitement I forgot to ask if you guys remembered to do your Fall Back.  Since most of us have phones (and computers) that do it for us, it’s not like it used to be.   In fact, when I first got my own my wee cellular device, and it was Spring Forward night (because you KNOW I was up), I sat with it in my hand, and watched the event happen.

One more auto-post and then we’re back to me doing it manually when the clock says eleven (or almost).  Today is the train ride home.  I’m already sad about leaving and it’s not even noon yet.  This has just been such an exceptionally great adventure.  I love being with my kids, but it’s even more special when my out-of-town girl can show me her sights and sounds and new neighborhood, all with such delightfully clear weather and no stress of time or structure.  Thank you Hanna and Adam, for your hospitality and allowing us to hang out with you both.  And Indi too.

(Please continue take your vitamins, we are so sorry that Daniel brought his not-a-cold stuffy head with him.  Let us know what happened with the maintenance guy and the radiators too!)

Here is our card, the one to get us all back into the pattern of our lives again.

Four of Wands  ~  Sound Foundation.

Wands, as we just discussed the other day, are inspirational and thought-provoking and brilliantly bright.  This one is no different, except that it has some physical aspects to it as well.

When I see this card in a reading it feels like a building’s foundation has been settled firmly, and we are going to set something very solid on top.  No worries of any rugs being pulled out from under us here.  No surprises or unexpected shocks.  I’m extremely fond of the celebratory nature of the illustration too.

Not as free wheeling as yesterday’s message, but still unrestricted and low-stress.  Our bases are covered now, we don’t even have to think about how we’re going to get from one place to another, physically or spiritually, that’s been laid out as well.  Inclement weather?  Not a problem, we have a tarp.  Too much sun?  Also not an issue, we have our own shade at the ready.

Enjoy having those preparations taken care of and relax into the situation, even going so far as to have some fun while you can.  You’re covered, literally.

For us, it sounds like the journey back to The Burrow will be nicely uneventful and worry-free, that’s always encouraging.  Here’s another picture from our adventures, and a bonus link down below, then I have to go pack and get the automatic things happening here on the dashboard.

We have no idea.

These are rocks.  Holding down leaves.  There were three or four cut-outs in the sidewalk along this stretch.  No clue.  Just thought it was odd, and had to photograph it.

When I notice things that have to do with New York, several folks come to mind, I’ll share them around when I think others need to see them.  Because Tracy blogs about her beloved NYC I often share things that I think will be interesting to her (or places I just want her to visit for me and then take pictures of).  Today, she sent me this story, because she knew I needed to be made aware of it.  (Thanks!) You go read it too, while Dan and I are railing our way south, downing DayQuil as we go and already missing our baby girl.

  1. Sounds like the best kind of visit. Love the story! “I have a flamingo in my bathtub, does it belong to you?”

  2. Yay happy visit! From the card, I would say it just reinforced the already existing the happy family dynamic. Nice work!

  3. I think some child was having an imaginary game with the leaves and rocks. Probably while their parent was doing something ‘boring’ like talking on the phone. I would love to know the story. (sigh)

Here’s to a safe and fun journey home!!!

  4. Someone creative used rocks and leaves to paint a picture. Glad you had a wonderful visit with your girl Hanna and Adam. Hope you feel better soon. Poor Babies. Rest and get well.

  5. You can own your own flock of REAL flamingos? That’s just crazy.
I liked the rocks and leaves — pretty awesome.
    Have a safe journey home.

  6. Glad you had a great trip.
Loved the flamingo story. Poor baby. Happy he survived.

  7. I love the leaves under the rocks. It’s particularly striking since the rest of the tree rectangle is so neat. I’m sorry you have a non-cold, too. Hope you’re feeling better and back to your normal schedule soon.

    • I always notice those overly tended planters (they just look too perfect), so when I first glanced at this one that raked part was what caught my eye. Then, Adam and I just stood and stared at all of them, in a row.

I’m self-medicating (heaping handfuls of vitamins etc), so I’ll survive. Mostly.

  8. I wonder if the flamingo was honking from loneliness because they’re never meant to be alone. Agnes and the Hitman, anyone?
Sounds like you had a fun trip. I’m sorry you and Dan are needing dayquil.
    Take care of yourselves!

  9. So glad you enjoyed the flamingo story. Amazing, isn’t it? So happy for the little pink guy (or girl).
Love the stone/leaf artwork, so cool, and I have to wonder how many people walked past without even noticing.
