My fingers get better every time I wake up. Whew! I love that blue stuff. (But the lavender oil was crucial too.) Went to the library today.
We are having a great summer-isn’t-quite-over type of fall, and that makes me happy. So not ready for our annual monsoons. I picked up my son’s laundry (which I have promised to do until the day I drop dead) and swung by a quilt shop for their second anniversay party sale, and a treat to take home.
These are very small, and I’ve already eaten one. Nice, perfectly nice. Nothing to write home about, but they were free. And they had frosting so, win win. (Well crap. I just realized that I forgot to take a picture of the gorgeous linen blend fabric I bought, on sale. Tomorrow I guess.)
I also took Empress a piece of pizza because it’s Saturday Market day, and I can’t just drive past when the weather is this pleasant. Then I went home and started reading the book I picked up. I had originally requested it for my mother (who I just mentioned in the comments section). She and I really like Sylvia Browne, and I’ve talked about her here before. This is a new one called Psychic Healing and I was hoping it would help my mom with her current issues (ulcerative colitis, thanks again Becky for the info). But as I was reading it this afternoon I came across a sentence that I HAD to share with you all. Focus yourself outward with an inward awareness of being, and have faith in your own strength of will and your mind’s ability and power. Pretty deep huh?! Who couldn’t get some healing from that? I am going to print it up later and carry it around with me as a reminder. If it’s not too long I may tweet it too. (I’ll probably end up buying this book, but if you are interested in seeing what she has to say, ask for it at your own library, won’t cost anything, and it might be just what someone in your life needs.)
We are back to the mysterious and fascinating Celtic Shaman’s Pack in our tour around the card altar.
“The Lady of the Moon and Stars ~ Arianrhod ~ Perception ~ A beautiful and powerful star-crowned woman with hands raised in blessing. At her breast is a circular shape like the moon. Within the circle is a sea of stars. Energy pours from her hands and is caught and balanced around her.
Through the mysteries of the moon and stars we have always learned to appreciate the influence of these heavenly bodies on our lives. They have the power to enhance our perceptions of the cosmos and our own place within it. They have also, the qualities we are most in need of in our own time; timelessness, immutability, the endless cycling of life itself. The Lady of the Moon and Stars holds within her all of these qualities and bestows them where they are most appreciated and best used.
Journey: travel along a shimmering set of stairs which rises from the earth and reaches toward the starry heavens. At the top you find a hall of glimmering crystal where you walk among the pillars carved with countless patterns of constellations known and unknown.
At the end of the hall sits Arianrhod in a chair of crystal. As you approach she places a finger to her lips and gestures for you to listen. There comes to you the sound of a song, so far off at first that you can scarcely hear it. Gradually however, it becomes clearer. One moment it seems like the song of a thousand different birds, at another like a great chorus of voices, singing in words you cannot fully fathom. But as you listen you begin to hear words and phrases which slowly build into a pattern. The song is for you alone and it brings with it answers of a direct and powerful kind. Nothing is hidden from the Lady of the Moon and Stars and her words can be brutally honest but always for your higher good.
Wait for the song to end and if you are in need of clarification, take this opportunity to ask. When you return to the mundane world, take note of all that you can remember of what you were told. You are free to visit here anytime to gain more help. For she is wise and true and generous with her assistance.”
It must’ve been “Betty library day”. You’re the second one I’ve seen with a visit! I love books. Sitting among them. Touching them. Feeling them. Smelling them. Experiencing them with each of the senses…well, I’ve been cautioned not to attempt to lick them again, or Barnes and Noble will never let me back in their store.
Nothing is hidden from the Lady of the Moon and Stars and her words can be brutally honest but always for your higher good. I wonder if she’s in cahoots with Death. I wonder if she knows my secrets. I hope she doesn’t judge.
No judging! There is no judging around here. Ever.
Yeah, I am sure she hangs out with Death all the time. They probably brunch and have mimosas or something. Definitely with a side of bacon though.
I adore my new library, although it’s a few years old now. Did you read my post a while back about how it won an award?
Take the books home before you lick them, that way no one will throw you out.
OK, I am now Hulk green with envy over your library.
That’s why I keep taking pictures of it! Award winning.
(Although, to be perfectly honest, Daniel says it doesn’t actually SMELL better than the old one.)
ooooo … pretty card!
Is she analogous to The High Priestess?
I’m thinking she is. I also saw some similarities to Mary, or at least a version of her. Like the Virgin of Guadalupe (which we are a huge fan of around here, quilts and candles and cards and …..)
Jules, I am late to the party (busy week!) but I send you thanks for the hello and healing wishes for your fingers! (And THANK YOU for the email video, I get choked up too, but it IS worth getting out there!).
Have a wonderful week!
No worries My Dear, I know everyone will catch up when they get the chance. And glad you got the e-mail video dealie, never sure how my forwarding is going to go. It is a topic that should be ALL over the media, and yet… sadly it’s not.
