The business news first, then on with our erranding day adventures. Today is Bill Murray’s birthday. I mentioned What About Bob recently so I thought it was funny that his special day popped up right now. I adore this guy, but I haven’t loved some of his recent films (most I won’t go see). He is another one of the “real” folks, deals with personal issues and struggles with depression. Just like the rest of us. Hope he had a festive time of it today.
Tomorrow is the Autumnal Equinox, first day of fall. On some calendars it will say it’s today, depends on what time zone you are in. For us, it’s tomorrow.
I had to see my dentist again this afternoon, he filled two cavities for me and yanked out a shard of tooth (it wasn’t really attached to anything, just under a bridge, and he let me take it home in a little box). Yeah, not fun but I’ve sat in that chair for worse. Much worse. I also borrowed a magazine, will bring it back before Friday Jill, I promise. I just had to see the picture of Lady Ga Ga in her meat dress. Ick, just ew and ick. Also, Kate Gosselin’s newly configured belly button is too high, that bothers me every time I see a photo of her. Well, a lot of things bother me about her, but the replaced navel is right up there. (I’ve told Daniel, if I am ever in a situation where they have to do surgery, and they want to go through my belly button, tell them no. I like it where it is and I like how it looks, sure it’s about a foot deep surrounded by stretch marks, but I’m used to it. Never let anyone poke a knife or a viewer in there.)
So, after the dentist (and my face is still numb going on four hours later) we headed out for our day. Saw one foreign license plate: Tennessee. Then we went to get my swim suit. Wow, also not fun. But not for the reasons you would think. I hate most everything, and it’s not the best time of year to find them, and the type I need for my splashy/exercisey class can be expensive. Also we had to get a new toaster. I didn’t want to get a new toaster, but the old one is not really working. We bought it when J.D. was three (he’s 26). Fine.

Aren’t these girls lovely? (Sure, the guy too.) They were so sweet, and gave Dan plenty of samples. As soon as the Novocaine wears off, I’ll eat.
His teeth were fine, so he didn’t wait for me. Also, look how much fun he’s having. LOL!
Shut up, that has nothing to do with all the filings, and crowns, and bridges, and root canals in my head. Really, I’m sure it doesn’t.
I’ll let you know if they were any good, as soon as I can feel my face.
Time for candy shopping! I didn’t realize that not everyone HAD See’s Candy near them, until Tracy told me that it’s not in every mall on the east coast. This was a major special treat growing up. My mom used to buy a box for my grandfather every year, and my dad would give my mom some for birthdays and their anniversary. If you don’t know the story of how Mary See’s recipes started the whole thing, it’s totally worth a look. The best, absolutely the best candy, is in this store.
Weren’t we successful today? Okay, on with the cards now.

Be aware of the Higher Consciousness in us all. This is a good time to observe our thoughts through meditation or quiet reflection. Listen and honor the truth in what we hear so that the Winged Wise Ones can help us soar.
