Justice, and a Mini-rant.

I have been relatively mild-manner lately (must have to do with getting older, and hopefully wiser) but the other day I yelled some very bad words out my car window. (Not like I don’t usually toss bad words around, I do, regularly, I just don’t hurl them out my car windows on a regular basis.)  Today it happened again.  I am completely puzzled, and obviously intolerant, of drivers who insist on motoring along at five, ten, and even fifteen miles BELOW the posted speed limit.  This just makes my head explode.  On a road I travel every single day there are several signs, within about a one mile stretch.  Clear, large signs, advising drivers what the maximum is.  I am chronically behind the idiot who cannot read numbers.  Making me feel like I’m part of a freaking slow parade.  (Not that parades are known for their speed, but you understand.)  It forces me to scream obscenities and wave my arms around madly.  I need a megaphone.  Or a gun.

Alright, enough of that bad temper.  Let’s do our card.  When this one first came up a while back I tried to describe it to you, now I don’t have to, since I have given up worrying about copyright laws.

The Keeper of the Scales ~ fairness, balance.

The law of harmony is enacted when the Keeper of the Scales comes to us as an Ally.  Align with her as the law states, making conscious choices that create balance in our lives.  When we do, we also magically align with the abundance of the Universe and the powerful forces of synchronicity.  This creates conditions and possibilities that lead to the fulfillment of our highest intentions.

Harmony begins with the self and then resonates outward to others.  We are in harmony with ourself when we nurture ourself with love, respect, and acceptance, always fully taking responsibility for our actions.  Only then can we be in harmony with others.  This is because love is the central force that connects all of life and aligns us with like-minded others.

Another part of this message is restoration and the positive, fair resolution in all disputes, including those involving the legal system or other important exchanges.  The Keeper of the Scales is a just and kind Ally, always making sure balance is activated on our path.

When I first saw this card it immediately struck me with its simple yet immense beauty.  I love this picture.  The message is also so straightforward, speaking to me in a direct and profound way.   (Gawd I love my cards.)

  1. Feel free to throw a few extra words in for me as well, living in a touristy area means that slow drivers are the bane my existence…I usually keep my ranting inside the car though :-)
That card is beautiful and I like the message. I am a stickler when it comes to balance and fairness…possibly something to do with being a Libran?

    • Ah Libra people, very fair indeed. And I’ll throw out some bad words for you next time I am behind a slow driver. Any favorite local phrases I should use? I’d love to hear some Australian curses. We could share them with Sarah (SureThing), she needed something more creative than “you Fuck-tards!” last week.
(Really? You don’t scream at the tourists? LOL!)

  2. I’m certain Sue Sylvester has an extra megaphone for you (yes, I’m a certified Gleek!). I just hope you don’t don a pink track suit when you use it. (giggles at the thought)

As for the card. I’m going through…issues….right now in my life, and have been attempting to find balance with a particularly difficult situation for the past week. I’m home with a migraine today and don’t have access to my deck, so I’m going to vicariously imbue your drawing for today. Hope you don’t mind.

Oh, and thanks for the email. It was like a nice cup of warm, herbal tea just when I needed it.

    • Taking what you need from these cards are exactly what they are intended to do. I just pull the one that needs to be out here, for any and all to make something out of.
Since this is the help you can use, it’s yours.
      I’ll be e-mailing back tonight.

  3. Good Golly, Miss Molly! I’m gone a few days and you’re hurling curses at strangers. Just think of it this way, those people could be like my aunt, who used to drive very slowly (45 mph on the highway, I shit you not) because she was scared to drive. Or my mom, who drives slowly because she can’t see very well. The state licensing exam is, apparently, extremely lax.

So, really, they’re doing us all a service. Because, by driving slowly, they won’t do as much damage to cars/buildings/people when they crash.

Also, fuck-tard is an awesome epithet. I can’t imagine needing a better one.

Ahhh…it feels good to be back, if only sporadically.

    • I noticed you were gone. My entire world revolved around back-to-school for many, many years.
      Glad you are back.
I know, I’d rather the elder drivers take it slow so they don’t crash, I just don’t want them in front of me!
I believe we can credit my Beloved spouse with “fuck-tard” but I know I’ve heard it from my kids as well. Kinda like ass-hats, only with a bit more punch.

  4. The sweet lunar mom has a dark side… I like it. Hurl those curses out, honey, maybe the heat of your words will speed those dumb asses up. :)
