One of the things I did this year.

In June I started an enormous cross stitch piece for Empress.  It’s about fifty-something pages of charts for just one large picture.  I have completed three.  Pages.  (I also stitched a quilt for Hanny, made two wall hangings for Kirsteins, whipped up a couple of teeny tiny miniature pillows,  and finished about a 30 ugly displays for a shop.)  I don’t know how to link anything here in the text, so if you want to see what this pattern looks like you will have to go over and see Meredith’s website Scarlet Quince, I’m in the Gallery now.  (There is a connecting link on your right, where you can go to other people’s places, right….. over….. there…..)

Oh, and Happy New Year too.  (Lynne and Kristin, thanks!  Hoping yours is festive and lovely as well.)

  1. Wow, Julie! Your work is AMAZING!!!!

Also: re: the time diff between you and Ann. I THINK you are 3 hours. (I’m 2, being in Calgary). However, I once had to do a phone thing, and my kids looked it up on the Internet for me! (Sigh, I know, I know…). Anyway the next one isn’t Jan. 12, so there’s tme to confirm my three-hour theory!

    All the best,
    Lynne

  2. Lynne, I think you are correct with the three hour thing, so maybe if she has her live chat at nine, then it happens here at six. I know for sure it isn’t the other way around, because I was on around midnight and it was over by then, very over.
These cross stitch patterns come out really beautifully, not my work so much as the way the charts are designed. I just make little x’s in the squares! Will have some more quilt photos in a few days, I finished two more tonight. (And in this case, “done” does not equal “good” -just complete.)

  3. I am STILL very impressed, Julie!

Looking forward to the book chat (and I think you’re right about the time!). Have a good day!

    Lynne

  4. Thank you so much for the quilt!!! I love it! It is the pinkest thing I’ve ever seen! My dad loves his too! =)

  5. I am so glad you liked it Sara! You are more than welcome, and it was my pleasure. I just put up some pictures, so everyone could enjoy it’s pink-ness.
